Frequently Asked Questions
We’re being straightforward: these are Year 1 targets, not guarantees. They are based on Matt Seale’s existing relationships across 50 counties through his roles at the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber and regional networks including Locate South Georgia and Grow Southeast Georgia. The newsletter launch list is being built from real contacts, not purchased lists. We will share audience metrics with all advertisers on a quarterly basis. If growth falls materially short of projections, we will have that conversation with you directly rather than hoping you don’t notice.
Two reasons, one practical and one bigger than that. The practical reason: the earliest advertisers always get the best deal. You’re locking in 2026 launch rates before the platform proves itself — rates that will not be available once we have an audience track record to point to. You’re also securing exclusive category positions that will simply not exist once those slots are filled. Every publication that exists today had a launch year. The businesses that showed up then built relationships and brand recognition that competitors who waited could never replicate.
The bigger reason: South Georgia Magazine exists because this region deserves better coverage than it has historically received. The organizations that choose to stand behind that mission from the beginning are making a statement about who they are and what they believe in — not just buying an ad. That kind of visible community leadership builds a reputation that no amount of advertising spend can manufacture after the fact. Founding Partners are not just advertisers. They are part of the reason South Georgia Magazine exists.
Programmatic and social ads reach broad audiences based on demographic targeting — you’re paying for probability. South Georgia Magazine reaches a specific, defined community of regional decision-makers who have actively opted in to receive content about South Georgia business. A chamber president in Lowndes County who opens our newsletter every Tuesday is not the same as an anonymous user who matches a Facebook demographic profile. Our audience is smaller by design, and more valuable per person because of it.
Industry exclusivity means you are the only advertiser in your category at your Founding Partner tier level. No other business in your industry category can hold a position at the same tier as yours during your contracted term. For example, if South Georgia State College becomes a Founding Partner, that college holds the education category at that tier — but other colleges and universities may still advertise through general market placements or at a different Founding Partner tier. This exclusivity protects your position and investment within the Founding Partner program without restricting the magazine’s ability to serve advertisers across the broader market. Categories are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and confirmed in writing at signing. Available categories include: Financial Services, Healthcare, Education, Manufacturing, Professional Services, Technology, Economic Development, Energy & Utilities, Agriculture, Tourism & Hospitality, Transportation & Logistics, and Retail & Consumer Services.
Premier and Founding Partners who hold Presenting Sponsor positions rotate across weekly episodes throughout the year. With up to 8 qualifying partners across both tiers, each partner can expect their presenting sponsorship to appear in approximately 6–13 episodes annually depending on total enrollment. The exact schedule is coordinated at the start of each quarter and shared with all partners in advance. Every episode that does not have a rotating Founding Partner sponsor assigned will feature a house promotion for South Georgia Magazine itself.
Founding Partner agreements are annual contracts. Early cancellation is not available once the agreement is signed — the exclusivity, rate lock, and reserved placements you receive have real value to us in planning, and we need the commitment to be mutual. We will work with you if genuine hardship arises, but we want to be clear upfront that these are annual partnerships, not monthly subscriptions. If your business circumstances change significantly, please contact Matt Seale directly and we will discuss options in good faith.
Not during your contracted term. Any agreement signed in 2026 locks the 2026 launch rate for its full duration. Premier and Founding Partners additionally receive first right of renewal at a negotiated rate before 2027 pricing is offered to the general market. We intend to be fair about rate increases — they will reflect real audience growth, not arbitrary adjustments. We will communicate any changes with no less than 90 days notice before renewal discussions begin.
We will provide quarterly performance reports to all advertisers covering newsletter open rates and delivery metrics, website traffic and page performance, and podcast download totals by episode. We are not able to guarantee clicks, calls, or conversions — no honest publisher can — but we will give you transparent data to evaluate your investment. We also encourage advertisers to use unique promo codes, dedicated landing pages, or trackable URLs so you can measure response directly. We are happy to discuss what success looks like for your specific business before you sign.
The inaugural issue of South Georgia Magazine publishes July 2026. Prior to that, we are happy to share sample content, the editorial calendar, and examples of the production quality from Cherry Street Media. We can also provide copies of the original South Georgia Business & Culture Magazine, which shares our editorial DNA and gives you a clear sense of the content direction and audience we serve. Contact Matt Seale to arrange a preview conversation.
Contact Matt Seale directly at contact@southgeorgiamag.com or 229.460.7059. Founding Partner positions in particular move on a first-come, first-served basis for industry exclusivity — once a category is claimed, it is closed. For general advertising, we can typically execute an insertion order within one week of first contact. Ad materials are due two weeks before the relevant issue close or placement start date.
Yes. A 15% agency commission is available on gross rates for recognized advertising agencies placing buys on behalf of clients. Agency discounts do not apply to Founding Partner packages, which are sold direct only. Agency partners are welcome to contact Matt Seale to discuss client opportunities.
