South Georgia State College has been giving residents across South Georgia a chance to further their education since the early 1900s. Created in 2013 through the consolidation of South Georgia College in Douglas and Waycross College in Waycross, SGSC is a multi-campus institution serving 15 counties across Southeast Georgia.
With campuses in Douglas and Waycross, plus an instructional site in Valdosta, SGSC offers five bachelor’s degrees, more than 20 associate degree transfer pathways, on-campus housing, and intercollegiate athletics, all within a close-knit community of approximately 1,900 students. A 19:1 faculty-to-student ratio means students get the kind of personal attention that’s hard to find at larger institutions while still experiencing a true college environment, complete with residential life, athletics, and a campus community of their own.
For South Georgia, SGSC represents something essential, a local pathway to higher education that keeps talent, opportunity, and growth right here in the region.
We are proud to partner with an institution so deeply rooted in South Georgia’s history and so committed to its future.
