Growing Together: Greater Valdosta United Way Expands to 17 Counties

Greater Valdosta United Way has expanded its service area to include six additional South Georgia counties: Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, Pierce, and Wayne. The expansion brings the organization’s total footprint to 17 counties across South Georgia, up from just five in 2020.

Organization leaders point to the growth as a testament to the power of collaboration and the group’s commitment to strengthening communities throughout the region.

In the early stages of the expansion, the organization reports encouraging support from its newest communities through local donations and growing partnerships. Staff have started meeting with community leaders across Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, Pierce, and Wayne counties to better understand each community’s unique strengths, challenges, and priorities.

Those conversations are expected to help the organization identify meaningful ways to invest in local solutions, build strong partnerships, and expand access to resources that improve lives across its newly expanded service area.
